Fabio Di Giannantonio flew the flag for Italy by taking first position in the second free practice session for the Moto3 class at Mugello.
It was a great day for the young Italian riders, with Di Giannantonio, Nicolo Bulega and Lorenzo Della Porta all finishing in the top three in the session. Della Porta’s ride was particularly of note, with the Mahindra rider getting a great finish for the Indian manufacturer.

Briton John McPhee returned to form in FP2, ending the day in an impressive fourth place. The Scot also spent time in the session at the front of the pack. Championship rivals Joan Mir and Jorge Martin finished behind McPhee, in fifth and sixth respectively.
Juanfran Guevara was seventh, whilst the top rider in FP1, Romano Fenati, was eighth. Completing the top ten was the Estrella Galicia 0,0 pairing of Aron Canet and Enea Bastianini. They finished just ahead of the fastest rookie, Tony Arbolino, with the the Italian impressing at his home round.
The Moto3 riders will be back out tomorrow for FP3 and Qualifying to decide the grid for Sunday’s race.
