Sofuoglu wins restarted Donington supersport race

Kenan Sofuoglu has won yet again at Donington Park, even after a red flag saw the race restarted.

The race originally got underway with Luke Stapleford getting a great start. The former British Supersport champion was quickly caught up by Sofuoglu and Jules Cluzel but was still able to stick with them.

This was before Cardelus Garcia went off at Goddards, with his engine spitting oil all over the track. This brought out the red flags, meaning the race was to be restarted.

It was a disaster however for PJ Jacobsen. The American was unable to restart after his MV Agusta had engine problems.

After the restart, Sofuoglu was again able to show his dominance. The Turk was able to gap Cluzel, Stapleford and Lucas Mahias. Cluzel and Mahias would be involved in a battle throughout the rest of the race, with Mahias just coming out on top.

Behind them, Luke Stapleford was battling with Jack Kennedy for fourth place. It would be Stapleford who would be the winner of the pair, after taking the Irishman late on.

Sofuoglu would take victory easily, adding yet another victory to his impressive tally in the World Supersport class.

Sheridan Morais was sixth, with Anthony West seventh and Kyle Smith eighth. Hikari Okubo was ninth, with wildcard Joe Francis tenth. Kyle Ryde was eleventh with Geno Rea twelfth.

The next round for the World Supersport riders will be in a months time at Misano.
