Morbidelli wins 4th race out of 5 at Le Mans

Continuing his dominant performance in the Moto2 class, Franco Morbidelli has won at the Le Mans circuit in France.

It wasn’t easy for the Italian, who had to fend off multiple challenges for his lead. However, he would be able to eventually take the win.

Morbidelli took the win ahead of Francesco Bagnaia, who put in a solid ride to take another podium for the Sky VR46 racing team.

Morbidelli spent the majority of the race battling Bagnaia and Tom Luthi for the win. Luthi came closest to beating the Italian to the win until he was hit wide. He ended up in third place, exactly where he finished at Le Mans last season.

The Injured Alex Marquez came home in fourth, in what was a great ride for the Spaniard. His injury will now have to be assessed. Mattia Pasini was fifth, after a great weekend for the Italian.

Dominique Aegerter, Takaaki Nakagami and Simone Corsi crossed the line in sixth, seventh and eighth place respectively, with Xavi Vierge finishing ninth. Yonny Hernandez was tenth.

It was a disappointing weekend for the Forward Racing team, with both riders crashing out.

This result means that Franco Morbidelli extends his lead at the top of the standings going into his home round next time out at Mugello.
