As Moto3 practice continues in Qatar for the first race of the 2017 season, it was Jorge Martin who would end Friday on top.
The Spaniard, who this year makes the move to the Gresini Honda team after riding for the Aspar Mahindra squad last season. Martin managed to end the session on top with a 2m06.817s, the best lap of the weekend so far, in what was a hectic finish in the Moto3 class.
Marinelli Rivacold’s Romano Fenati was the closest rider to the Spaniard, as the Italian continues his return after being sacked from the Sky VR46 team last season. He was followed by Phillip Oettl, who continues to impress on his KTM machine.

Bo Bendsneyder was fourth but was closely followed by histeam-mate Nicolo Antonelli. Andrea Migno finished behind the Red Bull Ajo pairing, ending the evening in sixth. EG 0,0 Honda’s Aron Canet was seventh, with the sole RBA KTM of Juanfran Guevara heading Adam Norrodin and Briton John McPhee in eighth. .
With the threat of rain looming over Sunday’s race, qualifying tomorrow is looking very important. The Moto3 riders will get their 40-minute QP underway at 15:00 GMT.
