The 2017 IndyCar series season gets underway this weekend in St Petersburg, nearly six months after Simon Pagenaud won his maiden IndyCar championship.
The biggest news over the winter has been the news that Josef Newgarden will replace Juan Pablo Montoya at Team Penske. The Colombian will race at the Indianapolis 500 but will sit out the rest of the season.
2016 Indy Lights champion Ed Jones will be the only rookie in the 2017 field. He will be lining up alongside Sebastien Bourdais, who raced for the now defunct KV Racing Technology last season, at Dale Coyne Racing.
May 28 will witness the 101st Indianapolis 500, Alexander Rossi triumphed last season while Helio Castroneves will be gunning for a record-equalling fourth victory.
