Ferrari has become the sixth team to reveal its 2017 car after launching the SF70-H at the Fiorano test track on Friday morning.
The car, so named to celebrate 70 years of Scuderia Ferrari, predominantly sports the team’s iconic scarlet red after a strong element of white was introduced on the 2016 challenger.
Other notable features include the ‘thumb’ nose and a T-wing attached to the ‘shark fin’, a loophole in the regulations also explored by Mercedes.
Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will have their first chance to sample the new machinery on Friday with a combined 100 kilometres as part of a permitted filming day.
After a frustrating 2016 campaign, the Italian marque is hoping to take the fight to Mercedes in the midst of an aerodynamic overhaul.
It could prove a defining year for the team with Raikkonen possibly set to hang up his helmet and Vettel a potential target for the Silver Arrows in 2018.
