Panasonic Jaguar Racing is ready to face one of if not the most difficult track on the 2016/17 Formula E calendar, Puerto Madero.
Finding the perfect compromise between race pace and thermal management in the heat of South America is vital for teams this Saturday for a good result, as Jaguar look to build on their double finish in Marrakesh which followed Adam Carroll’s twelfth place finish in the season opener in Hong Kong.
“This is the third time Formula E has come to Buenos Aires and it’s easy to see why the teams all look forward to coming here.” Team Director James Barclay told EV Performance.
“This race is established as one where anything can happen. With the high ambient temperatures the drivers must manage their battery performance carefully. The circuit is challenging and the team must be able to react as the race unfolds and adjust the strategy to fit. It will be a big test.”
Jaguar driver Adam Carroll will be attending the Buenos Aires ePrix for the second time after being a reserve driver at last seasons ePrix and is looking forward to tackling the challenges Puerto Madero presents.
“It was last year’s Buenos Aires ePrix where I attended as a reserve driver and was able to see Formula E for myself,” Carrol informed EV Performance.
“The race was very exciting with so many overtakes, technical challenges and a surprise result. The location in Puerto Madero is also spectacular.”
The tricky conditions in Argentina have already given us two enthralling races around the streets of Buenos Aires, now with the addition of rain according to weather forecasts, this Saturday’s race is all set up to be another classic Formula E race.
