IndyCar was well represented at the 2017 Rolex 24 At Daytona at Daytona International Speedway. The first race of the new year on the IMSA calendar. The Rolex 24 featured cameo drives by 12 current IndyCar drivers and another 14 with past IndyCar experience.
While the IndyCar season officially kicks off on 12 March in St. Petersburg, the Rolex 24 gives IndyCar fans a first-chance opportunity see a number of their favorites race in sports cars, and they did not disappoint.
Sebastien Bourdais finished first in the GTLM class and fifth overall, the Rolex 24 was a smashing success for the Frenchman. Tony Kanaan, also in the GTLM class, took fifth in class and ninth overall.
Other IndyCar notables include: Ryan Hunter-Reay, racing in GTD class, finished fifth in class and 22nd overall. James Hinchcliffe finished 12th in Prototype class and 46th overall. And A.J Foyt Enterprises newcomer, Conor Daly finished fourth in the Prototype Challenge class and 44th overall.
