Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag is making Brazil a ‘priority’ for a new ePrix, with Lucas di Grassi already coming up with a potential track layout.
There have been talks of wanting an ePrix in Brazil for some time, which would become the home race for season one champion Nelson Piquet Jr. and Abt Schaeffler’s Lucas di Grassi.
Rio de Janeiro was due to host the first ever Formula E race but wasn’t part of the official calendar for the 2014/15 season.
“It is a priority to run in Brazil,” Agag told Brazilian magazine Grande Premio, as quoted by Motorsport.com. “We are in talks with a number of potential host cities at the moment. I think it’s very possible to see us running in Brazil maybe next season, or more likely in the fifth season.”
Sao Paulo, the hometown of di Grassi, is thought to be another potential host for the Brazil ePrix. The Brazilian took to Twitter to showcase his track design, which would be held at Ibirapuera Park, with the potential track being 2.4km long and consisting of 11 corners.

Di Grassi told Motorsport.com that it would be a great highlight for him to race in Sao Paulo, having competed in the Brazil Grand Prix during the 2010 Formula 1 season.
“The prospects are exciting not only for me but also the race fans of Brazil, it would be a great highlight for me to be able to race in my home city again.”
After racing in Hong Kong and Marrakesh for the first time to start season three, Formula E will also host new races in Brussels, New York and Montreal this season.
