So it’s mid-January of 2017 and for Formula One fans each day feels like a never-ending wait for salvation.
Nico Rosberg’s doughnuts after clinching the world championship in Abu Dhabi clearly happened a century ago and lights out in Melbourne may as well be in the next Millennia.
As much as some still hate it, we long to hear the sound of a V6 turbo revving, creating those butterflies that come when the cars line up on the grid.
In an effort to try and fill that need for speed, I’ve come up with five moments from the 20-plus years I can remember watching F1 that may have caused this calm, mild… who am I kidding, this maniac to wake up neighbours early in the morning or destroy their peaceful Sunday afternoon with the yelp of OMG!!
