2016 F1 end-of-season awards

2016 may have been another season of Mercedes domination, but there was drama aplenty over the course of the 21-race campaign. The Read Motorsport team nominate their choices for the end-of-season awards.

Nico Rosberg finally defeated Lewis Hamilton and clinched his first title in what would prove his final season in F1, but the German was not the only stand-out performer in an entertaining season of racing.

Rosberg stole a march on his fierce rival by winning four on the bounce at the start of the season, only for Hamilton to turn the tables with a scintillating run of form prior to the summer break. In the decisive flyaway races, however, it was Rosberg who seized the upper hand, wrapping up the championship in the thrilling Abu Dhabi finale.

But will Nico star in our post season awards? Up for grabs here are the traditional awards for best driver, best team, best race best overtake and best performance, alongside the titles of best rookie, best moment, unsung hero, best quote and the biggest shock.

After reading through our selections, make sure you get in touch with us via Twitter with your own choices.
