Turvey applauds Hong Kong analysis following Marrakesh points

NextEV driver Oliver Turvey applauded the analysis done post-Hong Kong as the reason he was able to finish seventh in the inaugural Marrakesh ePrix.

“We did a lot of work and analysis after Hong Kong and here we were able to work better as a team and I think we hit all the energy targets during the race and maximised everything in both stints,” said Turvey.

Starting eighth, the first stint of the Brits race was occupied with keeping a watchful eye on the Andretti of Antonio Felix da Costa until Lucas di Grassi passed the Portuguese driver, then made his way past the Brit just before the pits.

Gaining a place due to his teammate’s pit stop woes, Turvey found himself back in eighth after the car change and in a world of his own until the closing stages of the race when he caught a helpless Jean-Eric Vergne on the final lap to move into seventh place, bringing home six points.

“I was on my own most of the race,” added Turvey. “But it’s another race that we learnt a lot and we improved from the last race. We want to be higher up, but to score another six points is good.”
