Robin Frijns expressed his disappointment of missing out on points at the inaugural Marrakesh ePrix after a spin and the majority of the field on the same strategy as the Andretti team in their second cars left an arduous task for the Dutchman.
A respectable outing in qualifying saw Andretti lockout the fifth row, with Frijns ninth and da Costa tenth respectively, leading to hopes of another decent points haul for the American team. However, a spin during his first stint along with the majority of the field opting for the same strategy as the Dutch driver in their second cars left an uphill battle for Frijns to fight his way back into the points as he brought his Andretti home in eleventh place.
A downbeat Frijns had this to say about the race: “It’s more competitive and everybody has the same way of driving now so it’s getting tougher to overtake. It’s a bit of a shame we didn’t score any points today, at maximum we could have been P8. Hopefully the next race will be a better one.”
