This weekend Formula E travels to Marrakesh, Morocco for the first ePrix to be held on the continent of Africa.
It isn’t the first time that a motorsport race has taken place in the city, with the Circuit Moulay El Hassan being used by the World Touring Car Championship since 2009. Ma Qing Hua and Jose Maria Lopez have experience on the track, with Lopez winning on the current layout earlier this year.
Morocco has also seen one Formula 1 race, with Stirling Moss taking first place in the final race of the 1958 season ahead of Mike Hawthorn and Phil Hill.
The third season of the FIA Formula E Championship kicked off with the inaugural Hong Kong ePrix, and the top two finishers by the end of it all were Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi. Both drivers went head to head for the Drivers’ Championship in season two, and look likely to carry on the battle again.

Mahindra’s Nick Heidfeld did well to finish in third place, making the podium the same as the Beijing ePrix a year prior. Both Andretti and NEXTEV were rewarded after good performances, with top 10 finishes for each driver in both teams.
After looking promising during testing at Donington Park, Techeetah struggled in the first round, and will be looking to make their way up the grid. DS Virgin’s Sam Bird was unlucky to not score any points after being plagued with car troubles during the second half of the race.
Track: Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan
Circuit Length: 2.97km
