Buemi to choose WEC over Formula E

Defending Formula E Champion Sebastien Buemi is set to choose the World Endurance Championship round at the Nurburgring over the doubleheader in New York if the current clash on the FIA calendar remains.

The clash is set to take place on the July 15th-16th weekend, and the Toyota LMP1 driver has made his intentions clear whilst speaking to Autosport.

“The decision is made, the priority is Toyota,” the Swiss driver informed Autosport.

Buemi isn’t the only driver on the Formula E grid with WEC commitments; however, the other drivers are yet to make their mind up over which race they will be attending that weekend.

Lucas di Grassi, Stephane Sarrazin, Loic Duval and Sam Bird all have World Endurance Championship commitments and face a difficult decision on a weekend where a maximum of 58 points in the Formula E Championship will be missed out on for any driver that opts for the Nurburgring over the street of New York.
