Season Three of the FIA Formula E Championship is nearly here, and Jaguar have decided to join the electric-powered motorsport series.
They take over an entry that didn’t even make it onto the track last season. The Trulli Formula E team failed to pass the FIA’s scrutineering process in both Beijing and Putrajaya, and before the Punta del Este ePrix they withdrew from Formula E.
The appearance of another well-known car manufacturer like Jaguar is great news for the championship, with Renault being a part of Formula E since the beginning and Audi recently announcing they were becoming more involved in the Abt Schaeffler team.
Unlike Techeetah – the other new team in the upcoming season – Jaguar are using their own powertrain. They also have two drivers new to the series in Mitch Evans and Adam Carroll.
We will look at how the team has done during the pre-season tests, their drivers and how we think they will do in their inaugural season.
