Nick Heidfeld has told Motorsport.com that he believes Mahindra have made a big improvement with their newest powertrain.
The second batch of testing sessions started today, with all the teams getting ready for the third Formula E season. Heidfeld thinks that his car is much better compared to last season.
“It’s a big step, but actually driving the car, there’s not a massive difference,” Heidfeld said in the interview.
“It is clearly better, but if I just look at the packaging, if I look at the weight, the design of everything, this looks like night and day compared to last year.”

The 39-year-old German has took part in all three seasons in Formula E, driving for Venturi in the inaugural season but making the move to Mahindra for season two. This time round he will be teammates with Felix Rosenqvist.
He goes on to say that the testing sessions at Donington Park can be deceiving for teams.
“It is not easy at Donington because you can be misled by some of the results. You have to keep in mind to focus on the right corners, rather than the quick corners where there is laptime to find but are pointless for the rest of the year.”
Heidfeld will hope to make a good start to the season when Formula E starts up again next month. Season three will start with the first Hong Kong ePrix.
