Nico Rosberg ended a four-race drought with a dominant victory in a chaotic Belgian Grand Prix, with Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo claiming second and Lewis Hamilton fighting back to third having started 21st.

While the German cruised to a lights-to-flag triumph, there were incidents aplenty behind with three of his main rivals – Kimi Raikkonen, Max Verstappen and Sebastian Vettel – all coming to blows at the first corner.

Ricciardo benefitted from a red flag, as Kevin Magnussen became the first F1 driver to crash at Eau Rouge in 11 years, to finish in a relatively comfortable second while Hamilton was able to keep his head as those ahead did not and completed the podium – limiting the damage to his championship lead after starting from the back.

Force India, a team who have become specialists around Spa-Francorchamps, made a massive gain in their battle against Williams as Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez came home an impressive fourth and fifth respectively.

And Sebastian Vettel recovered from arguably causing the chaos at La Source to finish sixth in what was another dismal race for Ferrari.
