Incredibly after 14 action packed races, Sergey Sirotkin and Pierre Gasly are tied at the top of the Drivers’ Championship with 114 points each.
Nine different drivers have won a race, 16 drivers have stood on the podium and 21 of the 23 drivers have finished in the points this year.
With such a competitive field, it’s so difficult for the drivers to stand out but a select few have risen to the top and look to challenge for the championship until the very last race.
Not only is championship glory up for grabs for the victor but it significantly increases their chances of an F1 seat for 2017.
An impressive first half of the season has put Gasly at the top of Toro Rosso’s shopping list for 2017 while a struggling Alex Lynn needs to improve in the second half of the season to convince Williams of his full potential.
Rookies such as GP3 graduates Luca Ghiotto and Marvin Kirchhofer have mixed it with and beaten some of the more experienced drivers.
However, there is no doubt the most impressive new face on the grid is Prema Racing’s Antonio Giovinazzi who has set the GP2 grid alight with his electrifying pace.
With four rounds and eight races to go, GP2 is set for its most thrilling title battle ever.
Here’s how we ranked all of the 23 2016 GP2 drivers based on their first 14 races of the season:
