If there’s anything about the British Grand Prix that truly stands out, it’s the fans. After yesterday’s race, the winner, Lewis Hamilton was cheered for, congratulated and even carried across a crowd. However, across the weekend the British fans opened their arms to a newer podium sitter, Max Verstappen.

The 18-year-old received an incredible reception as he stood upon the third step of the podium – a reception that he definitely deserved. I’m sure you’ll agree that it’s no surprise that Max Verstappen is my Star Driver of the British GP.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; Max Verstappen is a rule changer. For such a young driver, I find it incredible that he pushes boundaries that are placed by generations of drivers that raced before him, yet still he does. When a driver takes the outside of a corner (especially when that corner is Becketts) to get past the championship leader, he deserves credit. When he does it in wet, slippery conditions, he deserves a podium and to be Star Driver.

It cannot be denied, Verstappen’s pass on Nico Rosberg was incredible. I think most of us can say we held our breath as he took the outside of Becketts until he came out of the corner in front of Rosberg. If there’s anything Verstappen can do, it is to make a memorable overtake.
Max Verstappen has, without a doubt, learned his way around his Red Bull car very quickly. He has proven himself to be a very resilient young man who is unafraid of setting new limits. Verstappen is a model Formula One driver who deserved his third place finish and the bonus of his promotion to second place following Rosberg’s 10-second penalty.

I would like to congratulate Max Verstappen on yet another podium finish and thank him for making the British summertime somewhat bearable. I hope he never stops pushing boundaries and setting new limitations.
Well done, Max! Here’s to your next podium!
