Nico Rosberg has described his British Grand Prix as ‘exciting’, despite the German facing a potential penalty for breaching team radio regulations.
Rosberg was hoping to step on the top of the podium at Silverstone today after the last lap incident in Austria last weekend.
The Mercedes driver said: “It was a tricky start, Max [Verstappen] got me and it was an exciting race against him.”
He also seemed happy with some of his manoeuvres throughout the race, adding: “I managed to get [Verstappen] round the outside which I was happy about.”
Although Hamilton’s victory shortened the gap between himself and Rosberg to four points, Nico showed respect to his teammate admitting he was the better man.
“Congratulations to Lewis, he did a great job this weekend and I just couldn’t reach him, no way, so second place which I have to live with today.”

Unfortunately for Rosberg, at the time of writing he is being investigated for a potential breach of Formula One’s limits much talked about limits on radio communication.
A conversation between the German and his engineers could be deemed illegal, following a gearbox issue in the closing laps, which could result in either a time penalty or a grid penalty for the next round in Hungary.
A five-second penalty could see Verstappen, who finished third, jump ahead of Rosberg and be promoted to second, the result of that would see Rosberg demoted to third and Hamilton only one point behind at the top of the drivers’ standings.
