Reigning Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton has laughed off comments from fellow driver Felipe Massa which criticised the former’s extravagant lifestyle.
Over the past couple of weeks, Hamilton has spent time with Barcelona footballer Neymar and pop star Justin Bieber leading to some criticism sthat the three-time F1 champion is not fully focused on the job at hand.
“He is preparing for his second life after Formula One and it can be a problem for his career,” Massa told Press Association Sport. “It can maybe take some concentration away, and on some days it can make him lose points.
“He needs to think about his lifestyle. He needs to concentrate, and he needs to put in the first place what is more important for him.”

After dominating Friday practice at the Circuit Gilles Villeuneve, Hamilton addressed Massa’s comments and laughed off the fact the Brazilian crashed at Turn 1.
“I feel good in terms of where the car balance is and in terms of myself,” Hamilton said. “I think what was really interesting today I saw there was some comment from Felipe Massa about me having to focus on my driving and then he went out in Turn 1! I just think today shows I’m super-focused on my job and I will continue to do so.”
