Team Aguri finish outside the top ten

Team Aguri were unlucky this weekend after rear wing damage ruined René Rast’s debut race, whilst Ma Qing Hua had a solid first stint but finished 14th.

Debutant Rast was putting in fast laps and working his way through the pack before being shown a black and orange flag, as his rear wing was damaged from contact by Bruno Senna on the first lap.

“This weekend was a very special experience for me,” Rast said while talking about his first ePrix. “While the handling of Formula E cars is something completely new for me, I was able to really push in the race and could have been very competitive were it not for the black and orange flag.”

His teammate at Aguri Ma takes nothing but positives away from Berlin, despite finishing 14th after spending the majority of his first stint just outside the points.

“I feel very comfortable in the car and we were pushing for a top ten finish for much of the race, said Ma. “My aim is to secure points in London and show what this car really can do”

Aguri Team Principal, Mark Preston is also looking positively towards London. “Once again we showed the pace of our car in the race and we were unlucky to not secure a better result. Both drivers performed impressively given how new they are to the series. We look forward to an exciting final round in London.”
