I don’t think it’s possible to write a lot about the Spanish Grand Prix. I don’t even know where to start but I’m sure you can all guess who I’ve chosen as my Star Driver.
When we were all informed of Red Bull’s decision to swap Daniil Kvyat and Max Verstappen only four races into the season, we were all quite shocked. A lot of people thought Red Bull had made the wrong choice, however, if there’s anything Verstappen can do it’s prove people wrong. He definitely did that today, which is why I’ve selected him as star driver of the Spanish Grand Prix.

Today Max Verstappen not only won his first race but also became the youngest winner ever and the first Dutch winner of a Formula One Grand Prix. If that’s not worth recognition, I don’t know what is.

I have to admit that I was sceptical of the switch that Red Bull made, but as I said earlier, it’s difficult to deny credit to a performance like the one put on by 18-year-old Verstappen as he completed all 66 laps of the circuit without making a single error.

Verstappen fought off the experience and success of both Ferrari drivers to achieve his first place which is a great achievement in itself. The brilliant combination of skill, bravery and strategy enabled him to sustain the position and cross the line, adding an impressive 25 points to his tally.
Today Max drove incredibly, achieving a win that both he and his father can cherish. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both Max and his team, Red Bull. I hope he continues to prove people wrong.
