2016 marks a new era for GP3 as it sees the introduction of the new GP3/16 chassis from Dallara. The first major technical update for the sport since the 2013 season.
Esteban Ocon, the 2015 GP3 champion has since moved to DTM while 2015 frontrunners Marvin Kirchhofer, Luca Ghiotto and Jimmy Eriksson have all earned a promotion to GP2 in 2016.
The 2016 season brings a wave of new rookies to the sport such as McLaren junior Nyck de Vries and newly recruited Haas and Ferrari development driver Charles Leclerc.
Some drivers such as Oscar Tunjo and Konstantin Tereshchenko participated in selected GP3 weekends last season but in 2016, they are ready for a full-time assault on the championship.
