Nico Rosberg was very happy with his ‘great weekend’ in Shanghai, winning his third race so far this season.
After grabbing pole position on Saturday with ease after teammate Lewis Hamilton had an ERS failure during Q1, he was overtaken early after Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull got a better start from P2. He was able to stay out of the trouble on the first lap, as multiple drivers made contact.
He was able to pass Ricciardo on lap four after the Australian suffered with a puncture, and the German was not troubled by anyone for the rest of the Chinese Grand Prix, as he finished with a 37 second gap to second place.
“I’m happy with today, of course, it was a great weekend for me here in China,” Rosberg said during the post-race press conference. “It’s a special place for me, first pole, first win here.”

The German took pole and won the Chinese Grand Prix in the 2012 season. The win today means that Rosberg has won all three races so far this season, and has won the last six.
He goes on to say in the press conference, “It’s great and it really was a pleasure to drive today out there. Seldom had such a great feeling out there. And everything worked out well, the strategy and everything.”
Rosberg now holds a 36 point gap to his teammate Hamilton in the Driver’s Championship, while Ricciardo is in third after he finished in fourth place for the third time this season.
