Fabio Quartararo set the pace in Moto3 at the Circuit of the Americas on day one in Austin. With an overall best time of 2:16.250, he is almost two seconds quicker than the time he set this morning. He had set several quick laps in FP1, however, he had numerous lap times cancelled due to exceeding the track limits at Turn 19.
Second overall was Romano Fenati who had shown good pace early in FP1. His time of 2:16.397 is just 0.147 off of Quartararo’s. Third fastest is Niccolo Antonelli, with fastest from this morning’s session, Jorge Navarro ending the day in fourth.
Another quick rookie Aron Canet is in seventh, improving in time but dropping from his fourth place of FP1. The Spaniard was badly injured in pre-season testing, but many believe he will be a strong contender in the class as he continues to return to full fitness.

Enea Bastianini continues his quest for his first podium since Misano by ending the day in fifth. Nicolo Bulega was under strict instructions from his Sky Racing team to continue learning the challenging track, which he is doing well judging from his sixth place.
Eighth fastest of the day is Francesco Bagnaia, just ahead of Philipp Oettl. Rounding out the top 10 is Jakub Kornfeil.
Livio Loi had put the disaster of a wrong tyre choice in Argentina behind him by setting the fourth fastest time in FP1. Though he improved his time from this morning, he could manage no better than 11th. Juanfran Guevara recovered from an FP1 crash to finish the day in 12th.
Championship leader Brad Binder finds himself in 14th behind Jules Danilo. Though he had been seventh in FP1 he will surely be aiming higher in qualifying tomorrow.
John McPhee found a massive amount of time towards the end of FP2 and at one point was in 17th. With everyone else around him also finding more time, however, he ends the day in 23rd.
FP3 takes place tomorrow at 1500 BST, with qualifying set to follow at 2105.
