Qatar Moto3 FP3: Quartararo fastest, Loi quickest overall

Frenchman Fabio Quartararo led the way in the final Moto3 practice session with a time of 2.05.859. He is the only person to have topped Belgian Livio Loi in a session so far this weekend. Loi himself finished third behind Brad Binder.

Class rookie Nicolo Bulega continued to impress in fourth, with Sky VR46 teammate Romano Fenati just behind in fifth. Enea Bastianini was in sixth position.

Taking combined times into account, however, the order reads slightly different, with Loi remaining the fastest on track this weekend. He is followed by Quartararo, Brad Binder, Joan Mir, Bulega, Fenati, Francesco Bagnaia, Andrea Locatelli, Jakob Kornfeil and Niccolo Antonelli making up the top 10.

Darryn Binder John McPhee crashed early in the session. McPhee landed hard on his back and was a bit sore but losing valuable track time as his Saxoprint Peugeot struggles down in 2X. Typically neither rider accepted responsibility for the incident, with cameras only catching the aftermath with McPhee on the ground and Binder’s errant bike riding itself off-track.

Antonelli suffered a high side, which threw him hard on the ground, aggravating his right collarbone injury. Malaysian Adam Norrodin had a low side into turn nine while Jorge Navarro crashed on a dirty tyre after running onto the grass.

Moto3 qualifying will take place on Saturday at 15:00 GMT.
