Antonio Felix da Costa had a day forget in Mexico, starting off with a battery issue, which was followed by gearbox troubles and then a broken front wing early on in the race leaving the Portuguese driver with a DNF.
da Costa missed most of practice due to a battery issue, before suffering a gearbox problem leading to a gearbox change before qualifying. Leaving him well behind everyone else heading into qualifying.
Despite the limited running, da Costa did a fantastic lap in qualifying, putting his Team Aguri car seventh on the grid, however, a 10-place grid penalty meant he would start 17th for the race.
The race wasn’t much better for the Portuguese driver after contact early on damaged his front wing to such an extent he was forced to pit and change the damaged wing. That left him in a distant last place and eventually he was the only non-finisher at the inaugural Mexico ePrix.
Summing up his day on social media, da Costa tweeted the following:

A 10 second penalty that FIA is now saying they made a mistake and "apologising" for. A drive thru for cutting a chicane when i get pushed
