The 2016 calendar for the GP3 series has finally been confirmed by organisers.
Like in 2015, it will consist of nine rounds, starting off at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on May 13-15. Unlike GP2, GP3 will not race at Baku, Azerbaijan in 2016.
Before the start of the season, they will head to Estoril, Valencia and Catalunya for testing before the season opener in Barcelona.
Like GP2, GP3 will return to the Hockenheimring in Germany on July 29-21 and Sepang, Malaysia on September 30-October 02.
GP3 Series CEO Bruno Michel said: “The fact that we will run alongside nine Formula One events this season guarantees great exposure for our young and talented drivers. This will give them the best opportunity to showcase their potential on the same tracks, using Pirelli tyres, in front of the F1 fraternity.
“We welcome the addition of Sepang to the GP3 calendar which will provide yet another intriguing challenge. It promises to be another very exciting year, especially with the introduction of the third generation GP3 car.”
