Toro Rosso will introduce a complete revamp of the current STR11 for the second pre-season test in Barcelona.
Sources revealed on Tuesday the new car will effectively be a B-Spec version of the STR11 currently being used at the first pre-season test which is also in Barcelona.
Motorsport.com has revealed the Faenza based team is planning a huge overhaul before the second test. This clearly the reason behind the teams silence surrounded their new car after it appeared in a very understated fashion.
As we understand it the STR11 we have seen putting in the laps over the last few days is just a base model that the team will build upon ahead of the second test. This has simply been used so the team could get the basics around the Ferrari power unit sorted and incorporate it into their chassis, both of which they have now achieved.
Ahead of the second test, Toro Rosso will begin implementing major changes to the STR11 before its official unveiling at the second test. These are understood to be major changes to the aerodynamics of the car particularly around the wings, floor and side pods of the STR11 with some people also suggesting there will be some interesting and innovative mechanical solutions.
