Williams driver Valtteri Bottas has spoken of how happy he was with the team securing P3 in the Constructors’ Championship after his 5th place finish in Brazil.
Bottas was the only finisher for Williams, as Felipe Massa was disqualified for a breach of regulations in regards to his tyres.
Bottas praised the teams performance this year, and also gave credit to those who have worked behind the scenes to produce such a competitive car.
“I am so proud of the team to get P3 in the constructors’. We are competing against teams that are much bigger than us, and in some cases beating them, which is really cool. The guys at the track and in the factory have done really well this year, so a massive thank you must go to them and also to Mercedes HPP for a really strong power unit. We want to win, though, so next year we must continue to make that step forward.
Bottas has also said that the best part of the race for him was the start but was disappointed that he could not finish in a higher position.
“The start was the most exciting part of the race for me as I gained a few places. After that, I just had to maintain the tyres and make them work on a two-stop strategy. We were missing pace today so we need to have a look at why and improve for Abu Dhabi
He will hope to end his season with an impressive performance at the last race of the year in Abu Dhabi on 29th November.
