Suspension failure cost Dragon Racing a double podium

Loïc Duval and Jérôme D’Ambrosio would have scored a double podium for Dragon Racing if it wasn’t for suspension failure according to Oriol Servia

Oriol Servia tweeted the following after the Putrajaya ePrix: “Both cars had the same suspension failure, shame to lose a double podium in the last couple laps.”

Loïc Duval was running in second, whilst being chased down by teammate D’Ambrosio, Andretti’s Robin Frijns and Virgin’s Sam Bird before hitting the wall (causing suspension failure which slowed him down, and eventually ending his race) – leaving him as easy pickings for the three hunting him down, though Frijns’ pass didn’t go quite to plan for the Dutchman.

Duval’s team-mate, D’Ambrosio was on to finish second (previously running around in third before Duval’s suspension failure) behind eventual race winner Lucas di Grassi. However, hitting the wall on the penultimate lap cost him a podium place which would’ve topped off a good day, and gift second and third place to Sam Bird and a limping Robin Frijns.
