Prost fastest in collective test in Beijing

Nicholas Prost showed a glimpse of the potential of the new Renault e.Dams as he topped Friday’s collective test in Beijing.

A late lap from the Frenchman saw him displace his teammate Sebastien Buemi at the top of the standings.

The duo exchanged fastest lap times during the early minutes of running and looked to be the team to beat going into tomorrow’s main event.

Jean-Eric Vergne was best of the rest in third. The Frenchman was a whopping 2.1 seconds off the pace set by his fellow countryman, Prost.

The Mahindra’s of Senna and Heidfeld were fifth and sixth fastest. Jerome D’Ambrosio was just ahead of the two ABT cars of Di Grassi and Abt. Sam Bird rounded out the top ten.

Team Aguri and Andretti continue to use the season one powertrain and were well off the pace set by Prost. The fastest S1 powertrain user was Team Aguri’s Antonio Felix Da Costa in 12th.

The two Trulli cars failed to complete a lap as they continue to struggle to get to grips with their Motomatica powertrain.
