After much speculation about the Brit’s future, the Woking team finally convinced him to stay for one more season, according to BBC.
Despite all the rumours, Button will stay on the sport for one more season, after he was convinced by the team and their ability to overcome obstacles.
On the other side, Ron Dennis said that ending the Brit’s contract “became an irrelevance” after getting proof that he was one hundred percent focused and committed on helping the team.
However, nothing was yet said about Jenson Button’s teammate Fernando Alonso, who despite having signed a three-year-old contract, is still yet to confirm anything, which leaves a very small opportunity for Kevin Magnussen to step in and be on the 2016 grid line-up as a McLaren driver.
Despite the harsh criticism Alonso gave to Honda in their home race, it is believed that the Spaniard will remain with the team nevertheless, but we will have to wait for an official confirmation.
