Ferrari To Apologise For Parc Ferme Incident

The FIA has requested the Ferrari Team to apologise following an incident in parc ferme after the Singapore Grand Prix.

Having secured first and third positions in the race, Ferrari were summoned to the stewards after the podium ceremony for a breach of article 12.1.1.i of the International Sporting Code which requires team personnel to follow the instructions of the relevant officials for the safe and orderly conduct of the event.

Some of the team’s mechanics were seen pushing aside officials holding parc ferme barriers and also being aggressive with photographers in preparation for celebrating Vettel’s third win of the season.

No further action was taken by the race stewards apart from requesting Ferrari team principal to write an unconditional apology after the incident. The outcome was published in an FIA statement:

“The Stewards, have received a complaint from the Secretary of the Event on behalf of himself and the members of the security contingent at Post Race Parc Ferme, that some members of Scuderia Ferrari failed to obey instructions of relevant officials and behaved in an inappropriate manner, have heard from the Team Manager, the Secretary of the Event and the Head of the Security Contingent.”

“The Team Representative has offered to have the Team Principal send a written unconditional apology to those who were affected and to give an assurance that there will not be a recurrence.”
