Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene slammed the wheelnut that saw Sebastian Vettel lose out on a spot on the podium.
Vettel was running a comfortable third before his first and sole pitstop, which was prolonged by a faulty wheelnut on the right-rear tyre, conceding the position to Felipe Massa behind him.
The Ferrari driver was able to recover the deficit loss to Massa by the end of the race but failed to find a way pass the Mercedes-powered Williams.
Arrivabene, casting his mind back to issues with wheelnuts in previous races, has called for a solution to the problem that has denied his team further points.
“We had a problem with the wheelnut, and it’s not the first time, so we have to make sure that it does not happen again,” said Arrivabene.
“It was not a problem of the mechanics, it was our fault, and we have to make sure we fix it.
“We threw away one more time a podium for a stupid piece that we need to recover, we need to fix, as soon as possible.
“It’s not the first time, and for me it’s not acceptable.”
