Jolyon Palmer is to receive five more Friday practice outings behind the wheel of the Lotus E23 before the end of the 2015 Formula 1 season.
The team’s reserve driver and current GP2 champion has had three practice runs thus far this season; the first practice sessions of the rounds in China, Bahrain and Spain.
Palmer’s next practice appearances for Lotus will be the first practice sessions of the remaining European races (Austria, Silverstone, Hungary, Belgium and Italy) , and is delighted with the opportunity to step into the E23 once more.
“I’m really pleased to be driving in FP1 for the rest of the European season,” the 24-year old told AUTOSPORT.
“I’ve been happy with my performances so far and the car is improving all the time so, after watching on at the last two events, it will be great to be driving again.”
