John Booth has announced that Manor plan to run their 2015 car for the first time after the summer break.
Manor by the skin on their teeth managed to make it to the grid this season after the team entered administration at the back end of 2014. The old factory has been sold to Haas F1 who make their debut in 2016, Manor have since been operating out of a base in Sheffield. Manor have been running with a modified 2014 spec car this season with a 2014 Ferrari power unit.
“For the 2015 car, our aim has always been for the August break,” Booth added.
“As with arriving in Australia, it is a very aggressive target and will take a lot of achieving. But when we get back from these first four flyaway races we just really need to sit down and see if we can bring all the areas together that need bringing together to achieve that in that timeframe.”
Manor hit problems with the car at the opening weekend meaning neither car could take part in qualifying. Will Stevens again missed out on taking the start in Malaysia when the team could only manage to get teammate Roberto Merhi’s car started. Thankfully Manor managed to get both teams to the finish in China.
