Lotus third driver Jolyon Palmer has confirmed via his Twitter account that he will take part in the first free practice session for the Chinese Grand Prix.
Palmer, who won the 2014 GP2 Series, got his first taste of F1 machinery at the post-season test in Abu Dhabi with the Force India team at the end of last season. Now, he will drive for the first time in an official Grand Prix weekend session at the Shanghai International Circuit.
The team have yet to confirm which of the two regular drivers, Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado, will step aside.
It's been confirmed I will be doing FP1 in China in two weeks for @Lotus_F1Team. Really excited! But first there's a Malaysian GP to do…
