Viewers of Sunday nights Top Gear saw smiley Australian Daniel Ricciardo top the Formula One drivers leaderboard for star in a reasonably priced car.
The ten minute segment in the episode saw current, and double world champion Lewis Hamilton dethroned by an outstanding lap time from Ricciardo.
The Red Bull driver had his sights set on beating Hamilton even before appearing on the show stating “I believe Lewis has the crown at the moment so it would be nice to take at least one title from him”
Despite a troubled pre-season test with the new RB11; the 3 times race winner insists that both he, and the team will be ready for the first Grand Prix on the 15th of March.
The team recovered to finish 2nd in last years constructors championship, after a bad pre season. Only time will tell if they can do it again in 2015.
