Nürburgring Yet To Contract 2015 German Grand Prix

Mercedes W04 NurburgringThe venue of the 2015 German GP looks uncertain as the CEO of the Nürburgring, Mr Carsten Schumacher, has said the circuit does not yet have a contract to stage the F1 race this year.

The iconic venue has a history of financial struggles but has still remained the host of half the German F1 races in recent years, after hosting the European Grand Prix from 1999 to 2007 consecutively.

“The F1 is welcome at the Nürburgring” said Schumacher in an interview with crash.net. He claims the TV coverage and media attention would bring good business to the area.

The German Grand Prix currently alternates between the Nürburgring and Hockenheim circuits every season however Mr Carsten Schumacher still warns that the F1 hosting costs could be too expensive for the location if a new deal cannot be agreed.
