Sauber team principal Monisha Kalterborn has admitted that it will be unlikely her team will end their barren run of not scoring points this weekend.
The Hinwii-based squad has experienced a trying season, having failed to be regular contenders for a top 10 position and found themselves languishing at the back end of the grid over the course of the year without a point on the board to show for their efforts.
The team are currently 10th in the constructors championship behind the defunct Marussia team and Kalterborn has conceded it will be “tough” for Sauber to prevent their first point-less campaign in its 21-year history.
“In Brazil we had our chance, and I think all was really looking well but it couldn’t be implemented.” she spoke in reference to both Adrian Sutil or Esteban Gutierrez once again falling short of a points finish in Brazil (the track where they last scored points) last time out.
“So it’s going to be extremely tough.”
