In an interview with the media today, Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel has stated his commitment to staying at Red Bull and is adamant he’s not leaving the team anytime soon.

Having won four Drivers’ Championship titles on the trot, Vettel has yet to even win a grand prix this season. Undone by issues with his 1.6-litre Renault engine and struggling to get the most out of the package, Vettel’s best result to date is the P2 he achieved last Sunday in Singapore.

This has led to mounting speculation that the German’s days at Red Bull could soon be over. In his interview with the media today, Vettel however is adamant that is not the case. Vettel stated the following:-

‘I’ve already said on numerous occasions that I’ve got a contract with Red Bull for next year and I’m working on the principle that I will still be driving for them. I’ve still got a lot to achieve with this team and I want to do everything to ensure that we make a comeback.’

Vettel has made it clear today that he has no intentions of leaving Red Bull for next year and believes that his contract with them will still stand. Even though things haven’t gone well for him this season, Vettel is still confident that Red Bull is still the best place for him and wants to achieve even more success with the team as soon as he possibly can.

Vettel also weighed in on team-mate Daniel Ricciardo, who has had the better of the running this season. Ricciardo who joined Red Bull from Toro Rosso at the start of this season, is leading Vettel in both their qualifying and race battles. Further in his interview, Vettel added the following:-

‘Daniel has done a very, very good job and has made life difficult for me. But it’s good for the team’s morale. His results have proved that our car isn’t as bad as all that.’

As Vettel has stated, Ricciardo has done a superb job so far this season and has proven that he is more than a match for him on the track and has achieved some amazing performances along the way. But as Vettel points out, this will only encourage him and everyone in the Red Bull team to extract as much pace and performance out of the car before work starts on the 2015 car.

Overall, I think Vettel has made it crystal clear that he has no intentions of leaving Red Bull and will drive with the team in 2015. This season hasn’t worked out how both Vettel and Red Bull planned, but they have come back through all of their troubles and are the best team after the Mercedes team.

It is clear that Vettel believes there is still a lot he can achieve with Red Bull and rightly so. Red Bull will not have lost how to win despite their performance this season and they have the budget, the facilities and the personnel at their disposal to bounce back and show once again that they are the team to beat once more.

It would be stupid of Vettel to leave Red Bull, a team which has provided him with the means to be successful over the last four years and made him a 4 times world champion. And Red Bull are still the best bet for Vettel to once again achieve even more championships under his belt, how many other teams would give Vettel that chance right now?

They wouldn’t be that many that’s for sure and Vettel quite rightly should stay with Red Bull for 2015 and see if they can challenge for the championship in 2015. And Vettel will be working hard and as closely as ever with the Red Bull to ensure that this is the case once again.
