_ONZ9510Pirelli have announced the tyre compounds they’ll supply teams with at the Japanese Grand Prix and the inaugural Russian Grand Prix next month.

The Italian tyre manufacturer are to bring their hardest rubber in the medium and hard compounds Suzuka, mainly to ensure that the car can deal with the forces the long, high-speed challenging corners the Suzuka offers.

While the Sochi Autodrom, tested by reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel last month, seems to feature similar characteristics, although a slightly softer tyre combination will be taken to the track with the soft and medium tyres going to Russia based on thorough simulation work conducted by Pirelli.

Cooler temperatures during the fall in Russia will perhaps see drivers struggling to generate heat into the tyres and brakes during the weekend, but Pirelli are hoping to be equipped to deal with the potential issue with their most versatile combination brought.

Suzuka will see the medium-hard combination used for the fifth time this season so far, with he most frequently used soft-medium combination making it’s sixth appearance at the aforementioned Sochi.
