Williams F1 Announce K-Pop Star TZUYU Theme Song Collaboration
Williams F1 have confirmed that K-pop star TZUYU will record the official theme song for the team’s ongoing partnership with anime series DAN DA DAN. The Williams F1 TZUYU collaboration brings three very different worlds together: Formula 1, anime and music. It lands at a busy point in the team’s season.
TZUYU is best known as a member of the K-pop group TWICE. She will also travel to Singapore next month to join Williams for special activations built around the project. It’s a striking move for a team more used to headlines about lap times than chart hits.
Official Details and Primary Sources Outline Multi-Industry Project
TZUYU said she was delighted to be involved, calling it a rare chance to blend three industries into one project. “I am truly honoured and excited to be part of this collaboration with Atlassian Williams F1 Team and DAN DA DAN, and to perform the official theme song,” she said.
She added a note on what drew her to the project specifically:
Bringing together the worlds of Formula 1, anime, and music makes this project unique, and I believe this collaboration will deliver something truly exciting and memorable for audiences worldwide.
TZUYU also spoke about the creative side of the work ahead, saying: “Atlassian Williams F1 Team is an iconic and highly respected Formula 1 team, while DAN DA DAN is a hugely popular anime known for its distinctive visual style and dynamic storytelling. I am very much looking forward to the creative synergy we will bring to the official theme song and its music video.”
Williams’ Luke Timmins welcomed her involvement in blunt terms: “There’s only one voice we could imagine for a collaboration celebrating supernatural speed, and we’re delighted to have her on board.” He also set out the wider ambition behind the deal.
Having TZUYU join us is a really exciting step forward for this collaboration, and another opportunity for us to push the boundaries and reach millions of new fans beyond our sport and around the world. We look forward to seeing the song come to life.
DAN DA DAN producer Hiroshi Kamei echoed that sense of scale. “We are truly excited that DAN DA DAN has the opportunity to take on a new challenge beyond the boundaries of anime, together with our global partners, Atlassian Williams F1 Team and TZUYU,” he said. He added that the tie-up would let the anime’s audience experience “the incredible speed, energy, and excitement of the series” through Formula 1 and music together. Full details of the announcement are available in the official Williams F1 announcement.
Squad Impact and On-Track Context Following Azerbaijan Grand Prix
The timing is notable. Williams head into this cultural push on the back of a mixed weekend on track. Carlos Sainz finished 10th at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix to score a single point, while teammate Alex Albon crashed out and failed to finish. The Williams F1 TZUYU project shows that commercial ambition sits alongside a car still finding consistent pace.
Deals of this size and reach matter to a midfield team working under the same cost cap as everyone else on the grid. They arrive amid recent debate over cost cap complaints across the paddock. Broadening the fanbase through music and anime crossovers, rather than relying purely on results, gives Williams another route to grow revenue without touching the spending limit.
It also fits a pattern of the team staying visible off track. Williams have kept busy away from race weekends too, including recent testing milestones with the team. The TZUYU project extends that same appetite for attention beyond the usual Formula 1 audience.
Singapore Fan Zone Activations and Upcoming Project Timeline
The next concrete date on the calendar is the Singapore Grand Prix, held from 9 to 11 October at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. TZUYU will join Williams there to celebrate the collaboration with special activations in the Fan Zone, giving fans on site their first real taste of the project in person.
Williams have not confirmed a release date for the theme song or its music video, and nothing in the official statements points to one yet. For now, the focus stays on the Singapore weekend, with the song and video expected to follow once the creative work between the three partners is complete.
