Misano MotoGP Practice: Bezzecchi Pips Marc Marquez As Bagnaia Slumps To 19th

Misano MotoGP practice ended with Marco Bezzecchi on top, the Aprilia rider edging Marc Marquez by 0.103s on Friday afternoon at round 14 of 22, the San Marino Grand Prix.

Bezzecchi saved his best for the final minute of the hour-long session, a 1m30.144s dropping as the clock ticked to zero and leaving the Ducati Lenovo of the reigning world champion adrift by just over a tenth. It is the third Friday in a row the Italian has set the pace, after Silverstone and Aragon.

Ducati crowd the sharp end of Misano MotoGP practice

Alex Marquez was third for Gresini, 0.185s back, with the Pertamina VR46 pair of Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli fourth and fifth in front of team boss Valentino Rossi. Pedro Acosta took sixth for KTM ahead of Honda’s Luca Marini and LCR’s Johann Zarco, while Pol Espargaro — deputising for the injured Maverick Vinales — produced a standout ninth for Tech3.

Martin scrapes in, Bagnaia 19th

Championship leader Jorge Martin salvaged the last direct Q2 berth in 10th on the sister factory Aprilia, keeping the three-way title fight intact for now. Pecco Bagnaia found no such reprieve: a former Misano winner, he was off the pace throughout and finished 19th, a fourth successive trip to Q1. No Yamaha made the cut.
