Marquez Misano MotoGP Warning Follows Perfect Aragon Double

Marc Marquez heads into the Misano MotoGP weekend expecting a harder ride than the one he enjoyed at Aragon, where the reigning world champion swept both races from second on the grid and took maximum points. The Marquez Misano MotoGP record suggests he is being modest — but he insists MotorLand flattered him in a way the Rimini circuit will not.

Why the Marquez Misano MotoGP weekend should be tighter

“At Aragon we scored maximum points, and that was the goal,” Marquez told Crash.net ahead of the San Marino Grand Prix. “MotorLand is a track that suits my riding style very well. Here at Misano it will be a bit more complicated, but it’s still a track where I can try to express myself at my best and push the Desmosedici GP to its full potential.”

The caution sits oddly with the numbers. Marquez has won five times at Misano, including the last two San Marino Grands Prix in 2024 and 2025, and he arrives with the Ducati grandstands behind him. “There will be so many Ducatisti fans, who can definitely give you that extra boost,” he added.

Bagnaia’s last Misano stand in Ducati colours

On the other side of the factory garage, Francesco Bagnaia crashed out at Aragon for the second grand prix running and the third time in four races. Misano is his home circuit and his final appearance there with Ducati before he joins Aprilia.

“At Aragon we struggled, but holding back isn’t like me,” Bagnaia said. “We’re not giving up and we’ll keep pushing to be key players once again.”

Jorge Martin still leads the championship, though he has played down the significance of that advantage as his rivals close. Ai Ogura has withdrawn from the weekend and cannot be replaced.
