Izan Guevara Pramac Deal Completes Yamaha’s 2027 Line-Up

Yamaha has closed the last gap on its 2027 MotoGP roster. The Izan Guevara Pramac promotion, confirmed at MotorLand Aragon on Thursday, hands the 22-year-old Spaniard the seat vacated by Jack Miller and lines him up alongside Toprak Razgatlioglu at the satellite Yamaha squad next season.

The announcement followed within hours of Miller confirming his departure from MotoGP after 16 years on the grid. Guevara has ridden for Pramac’s Moto2 team since last season and is the first rider promoted through Yamaha’s BLU CRU structure.

“This is a dream come true for me,” Guevara said in comments reported by Motorsport.com. “Reaching MotoGP has always been my goal, and I know how difficult it is to arrive in the premier class. It has taken many years of hard work and sacrifices from a lot of people around me.”

Why the Izan Guevara Pramac step-up comes now

Guevara arrived with a considerable reputation, taking the Moto3 title in only his second season with Aspar before two hard years in Moto2. The switch to Pramac revived him: a win at the Valencia finale last year, victory at Le Mans this season and further podiums at Austin and the Sachsenring. He sits second in the standings with 10 rounds still to run, 42.5 points adrift of Manuel Gonzalez.

Yamaha managing director Paolo Pavesio framed the timing around next year’s regulation reset, which brings 850cc engines, a switch from Michelin to Pirelli tyres and a ban on ride-height devices. “With MotoGP entering a completely new technical era in 2027, we also believe the timing is ideal for a rookie to make the transition,” he told Crash.net.

Guevara insists his focus stays on the Moto2 title fight. Yamaha, meanwhile, has all four of its 2027 riders settled while rival garages are still negotiating.
