The FIA has placed Lando Norris at the centre of the opening British Grand Prix media schedule, giving McLaren an immediate Silverstone pressure point before a wheel has turned.
The governing body confirmed on Wednesday that Norris will appear in Thursday’s first driver press conference alongside Lance Stroll and Gabriel Bortoleto at 13:30 track time, before Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton and Arvid Lindblad follow at 14:00.
That line-up matters because the 2026 British Grand Prix is not a standard weekend. Formula 1’s official schedule lists practice and sprint qualifying on Friday, the sprint and qualifying on Saturday, and the 52-lap race at 14:00 on Sunday around the 5.891km Silverstone Circuit.
Norris faces first Silverstone interrogation
For Norris, the timing is sharp. The McLaren driver arrives as one of the home figures carrying the heaviest attention, while Hamilton’s Ferrari appearance in the second group adds another obvious British storyline to the day’s media running.
The FIA has also put McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown into Friday’s team representative session with Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur and Alpine’s Steven Nielsen, sharpening the competitive frame around McLaren and Ferrari before sprint qualifying.
